1:1 scale 35 ton Gundam built in Odaiba. Old news but still awesome!

I got over the LM35 very quickly after finding this article on using an Arduino and a Wii Nunchuck to control a pan and tilt assembly.
Finished it about two days ago. Added a Wall-E head on there for the kids, which I can’t take credit for. I got the “robot head” idea from another YouTube video.
Completed my first Arduino ProtoShield!
Shields are boards that can be plugged on top of the Arduino PCB extending its capabilities. The different shields follow the same philosophy as the original toolkit: they are easy to mount, and cheap to produce. [ Source ]

So….. turns out the LM35 Precision Temperature Sensor I was planning to use wasn’t so precise… or maybe it was my (in)ability to troubleshoot that was the problem? This one is on hold.
Got myself a cheapo LCD from SparkFun, hooked it up to the Arduino - using the potentiometer to control the contrast and the backlight.

Next step is to display the temperature.

Arduino Duemilanove
Arduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software. It’s intended for artists, designers, hobbyists, and anyone interested in creating interactive objects or environments.
Arduino can sense the environment by receiving input from a variety of sensors and can affect its surroundings by controlling lights, motors, and other actuators. [Source]
My first one arrived on 08th January 2009. I have been messing with it since. I will be posting a list projects later - just wanted to get the first post up here.
